"Now Is a Great Time to Be a Flex Developer," Says Adobe's David Mendels

"You're Not Alone Out There...There's an Entire Ecosystem Out There" He Says During Real-World Flex Keynote

'The browser is not really a good model for applications,' said David Mendels this morning at SYS-CON Events' inaugural 'Real-World Flex' One-Day Seminar. Rich Internet Applications are the future of the Web, and cross-platform, powerful Flex 2 is right in the eye of the storm. 'Flex makes RIAs mainstream for the developer community,' Mendels told the packed Grand Ballroom of The Roosvelt Hotel's Grand Ballroom.

As senior vice president of the Enterprise and Developer Solutions Business Unit, Mendels used his keynote to "map" the ecosystem that has already sprung up around Flex, with developers and tutorials, third-party vendors and Flex User Groups, Flex resource sites, etc (flex.org)

Mendels leads Adobe's development of comprehensive, integrated technologies and solutions for enterprises and developers who want to engage their customers and constituents with information more efficiently and effectively.

65,000 unique developers downloaded Flex while it was still in Beta and 20,000+ have downloaded it since Flex 2.0 was released.
